SSB Paramedical Recruitment 2026- Last Date Extended

The online registration window for this prestigious defense recruitment is strictly time-bound. Aspirants must ensure that their applications are fully completed and the requisite non-refundable fee is deposited via the integrated online payment gateway before the closing deadline to avoid immediate disqualification.

A total of 76 specialized paramedical vacancies have been officially announced. The Ministry of Home Affairs has implemented a comprehensive reservation policy for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates. It is important to note that 10% of the overall vacancies are horizontally reserved for Ex-Servicemen (ESM).

Statutory Age Relaxations:

Standard statutory age relaxations apply beyond the upper age limit of 27 years. SC/ST candidates receive an upper age relaxation of 5 years. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates receive 3 years. Ex-Servicemen receive 3 years after the deduction of the military service rendered from their actual age. Departmental candidates and individuals domiciled in the UT of J&K during 1980-1989 also receive designated age relaxations.

• Head Constable (Lab Assistant & Physiotherapy Assistant): Placed in Pay Level-4. The basic pay matrix ranges from ₹ 25,500/- to ₹ 81,100/- per month.
• Constable (Nursing Assistant cum Medic): Placed in Pay Level-3. The basic pay matrix ranges from ₹ 21,700/- to ₹ 69,100/- per month.
• Allowances: In addition to the robust basic pay, selected paramedical combatants will be entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), Ration Money Allowance, House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, Washing Allowance, and Free Medical Facilities for self and immediate dependents.
• Pension Scheme: All fresh appointees will be comprehensively covered under the Defined Contributory Pension Scheme (New Pension Scheme - NPS) or the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) strictly as per prevailing Central Government rules.

Since this is a Combatised role in a premier Central Armed Police Force, candidates must possess robust physical health and stamina. The recruitment process begins with exhaustive Physical tests to filter out medically unfit candidates.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The PET is entirely qualifying in nature. Ex-Servicemen are specifically exempted from the PET running test but must compulsorily appear for the PST and subsequent Medical Examinations.

• For Male Candidates: Must seamlessly complete a 1.6 Kms race in 6 Minutes 30 Seconds (for Head Constable posts) or a gruelling 4.8 Kms race in 24 Minutes (for Constable posts).
• For Female Candidates: Must complete an 800 Meters race in 4 Minutes (for Head Constable posts) or a 2.4 Kms race in 18 Minutes (for Constable posts).

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates qualifying the PET will immediately undergo the PST. The height and chest requirements vary geographically as per government norms.

The selection process is exhaustive, multi-staged, and highly transparent, explicitly designed to filter out the most resilient and technically sound candidates for sensitive border deployment.

• Stage I: PET & PST: Candidates undergo strict biometric identification followed by the physical race and height/chest measurements. Only those who qualify move to the Written Exam.
• Stage II: Written Examination (CBT): A Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted via computers.
  • For Head Constable Posts: A 3-hour duration exam carrying 150 marks. Part I (50 Marks) focuses on General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General English/Hindi. Part II (100 Marks) focuses on Technical Subject Knowledge.
  • For Constable Posts: A 2-hour duration exam carrying 100 marks. It focuses solely on General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General English/Hindi.
  • Negative Marking: There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
  Qualifying Marks: General/EWS/OBC/ESM: 50% | SC/ST: 45%.
• Stage III: Document Verification (DV): Candidates up to 3 times the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification based on CBT merit. If any candidate fails to produce original experience or education certificates, their candidature will be cancelled straightaway.
• Stage IV: Detailed Medical Examination (DME): A thorough medical check-up will be conducted to ensure the candidate meets the strict medical standards of the CAPFs (including visual acuity, absence of knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, or squint in eyes). Candidates declared unfit have the right to appeal via the Review Medical Examination (RME).

Selected paramedical combatants function as the critical backbone of the medical support system for the active SSB battalions stationed at harsh, remote, and geographically challenging border outposts.

• Head Constable (Laboratory Assistant): Responsible for safely collecting blood, urine, and stool samples of the troops. Maintaining highly sterile laboratory environments, operating sensitive pathology equipment, generating accurate medical reports, and assisting the Battalion Medical Officer in diagnosing widespread infections like malaria or dengue in remote terrain.
• Head Constable (Physiotherapy Assistant): Operating physical therapy equipment. Aiding jawans recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, rigorous patrols, or combat trauma. Conducting rehabilitation exercises, applying advanced therapeutic modalities, and meticulously maintaining physiotherapy ward records.
• Constable (Nursing Assistant cum Medic): Operating as a fearless frontline combat medic. Providing immediate First Aid during life-threatening emergencies, assisting surgeons in minor surgical procedures, maintaining the battalion dispensary inventory, administering medications, dressing combat wounds, and ensuring the general epidemiological hygiene of the troops in the barracks.

The application process for SSB Paramedical Staff is completely digitized. No offline, physical, or paper applications will be accepted under any circumstances. Follow these step-by-step guidelines strictly to ensure your application is submitted without errors:

1. Access the Portal: Candidates must navigate directly to the official SSB recruitment website at https://recruitment.ssb.gov.in/ and click on the "Apply Online" tab corresponding to the respective advertisement.
2. New Registration (Part-I): Click on "Register". Provide your basic information, including your name exactly as per your 10th certificate, an active mobile number, and a personal email ID. A unique Registration ID and Password will be generated via SMS and email.
3. Fill Application Data: Log in using the generated credentials. Fill in all personal, academic, and professional experience details meticulously. Select your desired post carefully (a candidate can apply for only ONE post from the advertisement).
4. Document Upload (Part-II): Scan and upload your recent Passport-size Photograph (between 4 kb to 12 kb, white background, no cap or goggles) and your Signature in black/blue ink (4 kb to 12 kb). Photographs found lacking the required criteria will result in application rejection.
5. Fee Payment (Part-III): Proceed to the payment gateway. Pay the required fee (Rs. 100/- for UR/OBC/EWS) online using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI. Female candidates, Ex-Servicemen, and SC/ST candidates are totally exempt from payment. Do not refresh the page during the transaction.
6. Final Submission: Once successful, download the e-receipt and take a printout of the final submitted application form. Do not send this printout to the SSB office; retain it safely for the Document Verification stage.
