3. Eligibility Criteria (Age & Education)
To be considered for the Supervisory Skill Assessment, candidates must fulfill the mandatory educational and age criteria strictly on or before the cut-off date of 06 May 2026.
A. Educational Qualifications
- Minimum Educational Qualification (Mandatory): Candidates must hold a Diploma in Mining Engineering. The diploma must be of 3 years duration and must have been acquired from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC/AICTE/Govt. of India.
- Desirable Qualification: Possession of a Foreman's certificate of Competency for metalliferous mines is considered desirable, though not strictly mandatory to apply.
Important Note on Higher Qualification: The prescribed Diploma qualification is absolutely mandatory. In the absence of the Diploma, possessing any higher qualification (e.g., B.Tech/B.E.) does not make a candidate eligible for the Supervisory Skill Assessment.
B. Age Limit Constraints
The maximum age for applying to the Grade CE-04 contractual post is 50 Years as on the cut-off date (06/05/2026). Age relaxation policies are as follows:
- SC / ST Candidates: Relaxable up to 5 years (Max 55 Years).
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: Relaxable up to 3 years (Max 53 Years).
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxable as per existing Government of India guidelines.
4. Salary, Benefits & Contract Terms
The engagement is strictly contractual, but NMDC offers a highly competitive consolidated remuneration package alongside excellent organizational benefits.
- Duration of Contract: The period of engagement will be initially for a maximum of up to three years or till the age of 60 years, whichever is earlier. This initial period can be extended based on the candidate's performance and organizational requirements.
- Consolidated Pay: Appointees will receive a flat consolidated pay of ₹ 60,000/- per month.
- Annual Increment: The remuneration can be increased up to a maximum of 5% annually in subsequent years based strictly upon the candidate's performance.
- Leaves & Holidays: Candidates are entitled to 12 days of Casual Leaves (non-carry forward and non-encashable) and 20 days of Medical Leave in a calendar year. They are also eligible for weekly days of rest and public holidays as per company rules.
- Additional Allowances: House Rent Allowance (HRA) and TA/DA for official tours will be paid as applicable.
- Medical & Insurance: Candidates will be covered by a suitable Accidental Group Insurance for any accident occurring during the course of employment. Outpatient expenses for self-treatment are also covered at ₹ 35,000/- per annum.

6. Selection Process & Assessment
The mode of selection for the NMDC Junior Engineer recruitment will be exclusively through a Supervisory Skill Assessment conducted by a duly constituted Committee.
- Document Verification: NMDC takes up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents before the assessment. Only candidates whose documents are found perfectly in order as per the notification will be permitted to attend the Supervisory Skill Assessment.
- Supervisory Skill Assessment: The Committee will evaluate and assess the technical and supervisory suitability of the candidate. NMDC reserves the right to alter/fix the criteria for calling the candidates based on the volume of applications received.
